Second Stage of International Educational Competition for Schoolchildren “Icebreaker of Knowledge” Begins
Participants move on to educational webinars after quiz completion, but it’s not too late to register

The second stage of the “Icebreaker of Knowledge” competition runs from 16th to 27th May 2025. Participants – schoolchildren aged 14 to 16 from 20 countries – have now gained access to a series of five educational webinars, featuring leading experts in science, technology and Arctic research.
The educational lectures provide young researchers with insights into critical scientific themes, ranging from the development of the Northern Sea Route and Arctic biodiversity studies to advancements in nuclear technology with global applications, alongside groundbreaking perspectives on the quantum revolution.
Following Stage Two, the top 10 highest-scoring participants from each country – determined by combined quiz results and completed summaries – will advance as finalists. These candidates will progress to the third project phase, showcasing their video presentations to the expert judging panel.
This summer, the competition winners will embark on an unforgettable Arctic expedition aboard the nuclear icebreaker “50 Let Pobedy”, voyaging toward the North Pole for groundbreaking discoveries and unique educational experiences.
Schoolchildren from 20 countries are taking part in this year’s competition, including representatives from Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ghana, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, South Africa, Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam.
